Some Lovable Music Genres

I love music, I do have my favorites, but I love just about anything playing. From the classics to Classical, Jazz to R&B, Rock to Rap, and Country music, they all grab me in different a way, and of course my mood and the surrounding atmosphere will dictate what I want to listen to at the time.I know so many people who truly enjoy music and many of them have bands and studios. I find it truly amazing to watch people close to me engage themselves with such beautiful energy. Weather we are in a friends studio listening to their newest rap or at a concert watching my cousin perform with his Christen rock band, I am always truly entertained. I love music in any form you throw at me and I believe that a true musician can appreciate and vibe with the music in all of the wonderful genres that we are blessed to have.Music is a true artistic outlet and I believe in encouraging everyone who has a love for music to give it a try. I know not everyone is going to top the billboard charts, but that is not what it is all about. It is about the joy and peace one can find in music. Something lively and up beat to get the body moving or something mellow and soothing to help wash away a long tiresome day, I love music. I am one of the many who like my music a little on the loud side and find it makes working of any type go by so much faster. A nice fast beat and my housework is done in no time! Something a little softer as I wind down for the day, I will never tire of listening to my favorite tunes or experiencing something new. I love music.I guess if I had to pick some type of music to call my favorite I would veer more towards R&B, however if you want to truly please my ears give me a good mix of everything you can find and play it all randomly, this is why I also love my MP3 player. I enjoy the more versatile artist that mix it up for me and keep coming back with something new, I think this shows a true talent and love of music. When you can mix classical instruments with a good synthesizer and some awesome guitar chords you have won me over and your CD will become part of my massive music collection. I love music and I find it to be one of the greatest pleasures.

The Digital Music Distribution Challenges

It is unquestionable that the authorized digital music distribution channels have provided new methods for musicians and bands to sell their music and for users to purchase single tracks or entire albums from the comfort of their own homes. However, these legal systems still meet a number of challenges and have a long way to go before establishing a complete domination over the traditional distribution methods.

For one, the online digital music distribution systems have to compete with the illegal file sharing websites, which offer music for free and which are attracting millions of visitors. The majority of the authorized music stores responded to this threat by pricing the track downloads right, making the process straightforward, and offering millions of songs, which users could find in a single location. Most of them allow the music fans to pay once and download songs directly to their computers, mp3 players, or other portable devices and managed to pull users away from the torrent and p2p sites by offering superb quality and low prices. While the largest music stores such as iTunes, Rhapsody, and Amazon MP3 sell the songs and albums from a centralized location, newer digital music distribution sites such as Altnet and Wippit began using decentralized infrastructure, which allows them to scale up easily their stores as their user base grows.

New digital music distribution methods are offered by the mobile networks in the US, Europe, and Asia, where music downloads are offered directly to all the network’s subscribers. This is a new channel, which emerged after the latest developments in the cell phone technology allowed manufacturers to equip the latest models with built-in multimedia players. With a number of competing offline and online distribution channels, the end users are definitely spoiled for choice and they are paying lower prices than ever before. These new developments also presented greater opportunities to musicians and bands that are just starting up and seeking larger audience and recognition. While even a few decades ago, their only way of getting their music heard was to contact a distributor and hope that their albums would be recorded and sold in the record stores, today they could reach millions of fans easily.

The full range of headphones

Like most things in life, there are headphones to suit most people, tastes and budgets. Here we have a little list which might just help you decide which type is right for you.

Big, professional headphones. You know the ones I mean. The type which appear in the more serious  type of 80s music videos, where the singer is earnestly crooning in the studio while the love interest is looking a him/her from behind the glass, apparently not put off by the oversized headphones he/she is wearing. Modern versions are much more subtle and fashionable but the biggest benefit to this type of headphone is always going to be the detailed music performance that they deliver, although current audio technology means that the smaller sets are not so far behind them in quality as they perhaps once were. Hey, These Guys Sound Like Paul Simon

I know that I may not be the most up to date guy when it comes to music, but there is something to be said for having a bit of historical music stored in my brain. This may be a bit of a long story, but it’s still relevant, at least for me.Over our school march break, the wife and I decide to take a couple of our daughters on a shopping trip to a big mall about an hours ride from home.To be honest, I wasn’t the most excited person in the car.I mean really, I’m a mid forties father with a few teenager daughters, and shopping a mall is not usually my first choice for the day.And to be honest, the trip was pretty much living up to everyone’s expectations, including my own.But things did pick up briefly.

As soon as we showed up at the Hollister store, I was thrilled to see a front porch beachy kind of store front, with two very comfy wing back chairs sitting empty.Hey, this is my kind of store.Well, it gets better. There between the two chairs, is a table with a big stack of surfing magazines.Hey, I always wanted to learn how to surf, so this is kinda cool. While thumbing through the magazines (mostly filled with ads), I notice some really cool music playing.I have no idea who it is, but it’s upbeat, very catchy, and infused with some rather clever lyrics.Hey, all of a sudden, I’m really liking this shopping thing.

To my surprise, later on during the car ride home, my wife pulls out a new CD.Turns out, she liked the music she was hearing in the store, and asked the clerk which CD was playing, and he promptly sold her a Vampire Weekend CD.As it turned out though, the store was playing music from a number of different artists at the time, and Vampire Weekend just happened to be playing when she spoke to the clerk.Somewhat disappointed, but also somewhat enjoying the CD, I commented how much it sounded like stuff of the Paul Simon Graceland album, which was one of my favorite growing up.I was convinced, it had to be Paul Simon singing, or at the very least, that he was publishing songs under a pseudonym now. After scanning the CD credits, I was quite surprised, to notice no mention of Paul Simon.Hmmm, interesting I though. They must be a cover band or something.  I think they need a new logo as well.  Perhaps something from this free logo design workshop.

Later when back at home on my computer, I decided to visit the Hollister site, to see if they had other CD’s for sale.No CD’s listed, but if you click on the “PlayList” button on their site, it opens up a little radio station playing all the songs from the store.Hey, how cool is that! The one lyric that caught my attention in the store was “If I were you, I’d fall for me”.To my surprise, it turns out the song is by that American Idol kid Jason Castro, and he’s singing the song on a YouTube video at the Texas fair. What’s even funnier, is that the first page of comments are all about how people first heard the song at Hollisters.Hey . . . me too!

Today I looked up these Vampire Weekend guys, and I found a bunch of controversy about how they hate being compared to Paul Simon. They even claimed that in a conversation with Paul, he said they didn’t really sound like him.Personally, I think Mr Simon was just being nice.
